Smyrna Spanish Classes and Atlanta French Classes

We are one of the few facilities that offer 5 different levels of classes for children learning the Spanish Language and we also have Adult Spanish 7-week courses in the evening. It's time to move beyond "Hola" and ask for information about our program! We started our program 5 years ago and have more Spanish/Language Arts class now than ever before.

THE PROGRAM

The Vinings School of Art has Language Arts classes that teach the Spanish Language. We offer both Beginning level classes and classes for students that already “Know Some Spanish.” We have three Spanish instructors, who are all university educated & native speakers of Spanish. Each class is one hour in duration.

Toddler Level, PreK level, and BEGINNING SPANISH CURRICULUM

The children will practice several activities in Spanish. They will cover over 150 essential words and phrases including saying their name and age, counting, words for family members, items of clothing, groceries, and items in the house. They will learn words and sentences to describe activities in Spanish such as shopping, going to school, going to a birthday party, in the restaurant, at the zoo, in the park, at the beach, on the farm, in the city or out camping. In the subsequent classes, children learn common verbs and practice saying whole sentences in Spanish.

KNOW SOME SPANISH CLASSES and ADVANCED SPANISH CLASSES
Level 2 and Level 3 of our courses with speaking, writing, and reading

These assume that the students have had some prior experience with the Spanish language. The "Know Some Spanish" level is easier than the Advanced Spanish level. The "Know Some Spanish" students learn to write basic sentences in Spanish. The advanced classes learn grammar, multiple verb tenses and learn to write paragraphs in the Spanish language.

LISTENING AND REPEATING

The children will listen to new words and phrases. The words and phrases will be repeated several times. The children will then be able to repeat the new words and phrases modeling the instructor’s pronunciation. Many of the activities will encourage the children to speak out loud.

CULTURAL AWARENESS

The children will also get to see and hold toys, musical instruments, and other objects of art from the Spanish culture. They will also learn Spanish folk songs.
