Class Schedule For FALL 2007

The Vinings School of Art offers courses in Fine Arts, Language Arts/Spanish, and Dramatic Arts/Acting for Kids.  The majority of our classes are fine arts classes, and we offer both one and two hour monthly lessons in fine arts and single session classes or art workshops for children who are not in our monthly program. All of our classes are run by an art instructor, and you may sign in and drop off your child for class or stay and participate with your child in all of our short-term educational programs. 

We have three classrooms, so we are able to teach children of different ages at the same time, with a different instructor in each room.  Our students are from age 2 to 16, and from time to time we offer teenage classes, and adult classes in the evening.  We will accept some children that are 18 months to 2 years based on instructor approval. Our class schedule is:

Programs

We offer the following options for participation in our program

 

Monthly Classes:  We offer one and two hour classes. These classes must be prepaid during the first week of the month.

 

Single Session Drop-In: You may call our school to see if there is space available, or you may come by in person about 10 minutes before the beginning of a class to enroll in a single session. If capacity is available, your child might be able to join a class at a slightly higher rate than the monthly fee. 

 

Special Courses: For special programs such as “acting for kids” or adult Spanish, we offer fixed prices for the full course.

 

Policies

Make up policy: For students in a monthly class, we allow two make-up session per month.  At the time of monthly enrollment, we allow you to select the dates for your child’s classes.  After the dates are selected, we still allow you two changes (make-up sessions) in the month. However, once you have scheduled the make-up, we are unable to schedule other make-ups or make-ups for missed make-up sessions!  In order to schedule a make-up session, you must call at least 30 minutes before the class you are scheduled to attend begins. Make-ups must be done within 30 days of the missed session.

 

Class end time: Our classes finish about 5 minutes before the hour.  At this time, students can store unfinished art work, gather art work to be taken home, and help collect the supplies that they used during class.  A late fee will be charged for parents that do not pick up their children on time.  Children must be picked up during the last 5 minutes of the class, and no later than on the hour.

 

Pricing

Monthly Classes

Art, weekly 1 and 2 hour class:es (paid monthly)

1 hr. weekly class 1st Child $50/month, 2nd Child $45/mo.

2 hr. weekly class 1st Child $85/month, 2nd Child $75/mo.

Spanish, weekly 1 hour class:

1st Child Monthly, $50, 2nd Child Monthly, $45

1 hour Art and 1 hour Spanish class

1st Child Monthly, $85, 2nd Child Monthly, $75

For monthly programs we offer a 5% discount if you pay 3 months in advance.

 

Drop in Rates

Art, single session drop-in rates

1 hr. 1st Child Drop-in $15.00, 2nd Child $12.

2 hr. 1st Child Drop-in $30., 2nd Child $24.

 

Special Courses

Art for Teens and Art for Adults Course

5 sessions of 1 ½ hour classes, $110 for the entire course

Adult Spanish Course

8 sessions of 1 ½ hour classes, $160 for the entire course

Drama: Creative Characters & Acting For Kids Course

4 sessions of 1 ½ hour classes, $90 per month

(full semester is 14 classes from Sept. to Dec. $315)

 

We charge the same monthly fee whether there are four or five classes in a particular month.  If there are 3 classes in a given month due to holidays, the fee is 75% of the regular monthly rate.  There is a “once-in-a-lifetime” $6.00 registration fee for each new student that has not taken classes before to sign up for a monthly program.  The student’s contact information will be entered into our database and filed.  If you are paying the one-time single session drop-in rate, we do not charge for registration until you decide to enroll in a monthly class at the lower class price.

 

Methods of Payment

We accept debit cards and VISA and Mastercard credit cards, as well as personal checks. For bounced checks we charge a fee of $20 for the returned check in addition to the amount owed.  We do not accept cash.
